Terms and Conditions

There’s always a little fine print huh?. Any order from a customer is deemed to constitute acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions. We accept the right to update the Terms and Conditions and content on the website without prior notice. They were last updated on 21 July 2023.

In the terms and conditions below, we interchangeably use the terms Be My Guest, Be My Guest Design Limited and Designer to refer to ourselves and our employees, Be My Guest Design Limited. We use you, the Client and the Customer to refer to you as the customer.

Deadlines for Event Invitations (Weddings, Save the Dates, Engagement Party Invitations etc)
  • To receive wedding invitations within two weeks, all information must be provided at order commencement.
  • If the client delays the schedule by not responding in a timely manner there could be additional time required to complete the order
  • If the invitations are required within an exceptional timeframe, Be My Guest Design Limited may apply a surcharge. This surcharge is required to cover additional costs for exceptional requests, such as overtime for employees, expedited deliveries of materials. Such a surcharge would be discussed prior to the order being accepted and will vary depending on the specific situation.
Deadlines for Day-Of Stationery

As stationery for a wedding reception or event is a time sensitive item, the following deadlines apply, to ensure you receive event stationery in plenty of time (so we can all relax and know you’ve got everything you need):

  • To receive your wedding stationery before your wedding day, all information required must be received at least three weeks before you need it to arrive.

  • If the stationery is required within an exceptional timeframe, Be My Guest Design Limited may apply a surcharge. This surcharge is required to cover additional costs for exceptional requests, such as overtime for employees, expedited deliveries of materials. Such a surcharge would be discussed prior to the order being accepted and will vary depending on the specific situation.
  • If the client delays the schedule by not responding in a timely manner there could be additional time required to complete the order.

Be My Guest Design Limited will not commence work until the full amount as estimated by the online booking process has been paid. On receipt of this booking fee, this contract will come into force. The booking fee is used towards design time and the purchase of materials, therefore it is non-refundable once design work has commenced.

Requests for bespoke design or additions to existing orders are invoiced, and are payable within 7 days of receipt.  Overdue accounts may incur additional costs. Bespoke design clients are typically requested to pay a booking fee prior to design work commencing. The booking fee is used towards design time and the purchase of materials, therefore it is non-refundable once design work has commenced.

The Client shall assume responsibility for cost outlays by the Be My Guest Design Limited in all collections of unpaid fees and of legal fees necessitated by default in payment. Invoices in default will include but are not limited to fees for collection and legal costs.

The fees and expenses shown on the website are estimates based on the information provided by the Client. Final fees and expenses, if deviating from the original order, shall be discussed should any change of scope occur during the design process and an invoice or refund will be arranged once the order has been confirmed.

All New Zealand orders include GST.  For international orders, the customer will be responsible for any duties/taxes applicable in your own country upon arrival of the parcel. Check with your local Customs Office or similar to determine if any additional taxes or charges will apply, prior to ordering.

The Client will receive electronic proofs of each item requiring customisation. The proofs will be sent to the email provided for approval and/or changes prior to final printing (or supply of high resolution file, in the case of electronic file purchase).

Two rounds of revisions of this proof will be included in the price quoted by Be My Guest Design Limited.  Additional proofs due to errors, omissions or change of mind on the part of the Client will be charged at $25 each after the third round of proof files.

The job will be produced as it appears in the proof unless changes are requested. The Designer will not be responsible for undetected errors on the proof by the Client if the job is printed as approved. The Client is responsible for all stock, shipping and printing charges if reprinting is requested.

Changes to Design when final file has been sent (electronic file supply)

Where the Client has changes to the final electronic file supplied after previously confirming it was correct, an additional charge of $25 will apply.

Electronic proofs closely represent image colour, but are not exact. The proof is intended for content and position only. The colours shown are only approximated on any computer monitor or laser printer. Colour appearance may vary from computer to computer depending on colour, contrast, and brightness settings on each computer, and surrounding lighting conditions. Refer to printed colour swatches (available for no charge on request) for an accurate representation of the colours. A hard copy printed proof can be supplied on request for an additional $15. 

All Be My Guest Design Limited stationery is hand assembled, so therefore may differ slightly from product to product, and between individual items in an order. Final folds and cuts are a manual process and therefore variations of up to 2-3 mm can be expected.

Items with folds are typically delivered flat (with creases for folding) and unassembled. We recommend you fold your invitations then put them under some heavy books to stretch the fibers in the paper along the crease, to allow the invitation to sit as intended.

Our stationery and designs are often depicted in photographs with optional accessories and embellishments. These are available for an additional cost.

Printing support where a Client has purchased an electronic file

The Designer is unable to provide specific printing support to a Client who has purchased an electronic version of a file, including recommendations for printers or support with printer settings. The Designer will however, endeavour to work with the Client’s Printery’s specific technical requirements (such as supplying alternative file types, bleed and cropmark setup and colour format where specifically requested).

Digital Downloads End-User License Agreement

The electronic files supplied for download are for personal use only. You may not sell or share the files. All artwork is copyright by law. This is a digital file for you to personalise and print yourself. The download link is valid for two weeks, so download and save straight away. To edit the file, you’ll need to be on a desktop or laptop – mobile devices and tablets cannot edit the PDF. Also, ensure you are using the latest version of Adobe Reader: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ (it’s free).

For editable PDF files: Click into the highlighted fields to edit the sample text. Save, then print. When printing, ensure you print at “Actual Size” (100%) for best results – or take the file to a print shop for help.

In the event of cancellation of this assignment, ownership of all copyrights and the original artwork shall be retained by the Designer. The booking fee paid will be refunded less costs incurred by Be My Guest Design Limited in processing your order, including but not limited to time taken to design and administer your order and any payment processing fees.

Personalised Orders
For orders requiring customisation, orders may not be cancelled or refunded once final proofs are approved. Cancellations made prior to the receipt of final proofs will receive a refund, less costs incurred by Be My Guest Design Limited in processing your order, including but not limited to: time taken to design and administer your order, payment processing fees and any raw materials ordered.
 
Upon final approval of your proof, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds due to any and all errors (included, but not limited to misspelt words). By approving your proof, you are accepting responsibility for the information, and the layout as demonstrated in your proof.

If errors are discovered after the final proof is approved, charges will apply. 
General Orders/Change of Mind
For orders of non-customised items, a full refund will be issued where the item(s) have not yet been shipped. If they have already been sent, a refund will be issued on the return of the item, in perfect condition. The refund will be made via the original payment method, and the shipping cost and merchant fee will be deducted. The Customer has 21 days (three weeks) after delivery of the item to notify Be My Guest Design Limited that they intend to return the items for a refund. Be My Guest Design Limited is not responsible for return shipping costs.
Damaged and/or Defective Items
Be My Guest will endeavour to supply a high quality product that is free from any faults, defects or issues. However minor imperfections are an inherent part of using natural products such as paper, card and canvas. If the Customer receives an item that has been damaged in transit, is defective, or has any issues, they should contact Be My Guest Design Limited to discuss within 5 working days of receiving their order and Be My Guest Design Limited will attempt to resolve issues. Photographs of any damage (including outer packaging) can assist.

Be My Guest Design Limited retains ownership of all original artwork, whether preliminary or final.

Alteration, manipulation, resale, distribution, sharing, or similar of any of Be My Guest Design Limited’s products (printed or digital), any of its elements as a whole or in part is strictly prohibited. You may not use the design purchased, in part or as a whole, or any of its graphic elements to create another design.

Copyrights of the finished work and any and all of its design elements are not included with any purchase and remain solely with Be My Guest.

The Designer cannot use or add graphics, clipart, images or fonts sourced by customers without appropriate copyright and licencing conditions being met.

Requests for electronic copies of files by printing Clients

An electronic copy of individual pieces of stationery is not included in the price quoted at checkout when purchasing printed materials. An electronic file suitable for printing/reproduction is available for $60 each.

Be My Guest Design Limited shall receive a credit line with any editorial and/or social media publishing of the Designers work by the Client.

The work may be photographed and shared online and on social media platforms by Be My Guest Design Limited. No notice or request shall be made to the Client of such an action. If a Client does not wish for their items to be used for promotional purposes, the Client must clearly inform their Designer in writing as soon as possible.

Be My Guest Design or a third party may contact you after the completion of your order to place a review/leave feedback. 

The Client shall indemnify the Designer against all claims and expenses, including legal fees, due to the uses for which no release was requested in writing or for uses that exceed authority granted by a release.

Client agrees that it shall not hold the Designer or his/her agents or employees liable for any incidental or consequential damages that arise from the Designer’s failure to perform any aspect of the project in a timely manner, regardless of whether such failure was caused by intentional or negligent acts or omissions of the Designer or Client, any client representatives or employees, or a third party.

The action of submitting an order through http://www.bemyguest.co.nz will hold both parties in acceptance of these terms.
